Your Golf Handicap
Entry is open to all players aged 16 or over on 1st July 2012. Maximum handicap is 28 for men and 36 for ladies. Players may enter more than one event.
Handicap Rules & Requirements
There 4 events to choose from and the handicap requirements for each event is as follows:
Men’s Pairs - CONGU ‘Active’ – (A) Only for both players
Men’s Singles - (A)
Mixed Pairs – (A) & (B)
Men’s Pairs – CONGU ‘Non Active’ & Strokes Golf Handicap - (A), (B) & (C)
(A) CONGU ‘Active’ - a current member of a CONGU affiliated golf club who has played in at least 3 handicap qualifying competitions between April 30th 2011 and June 30th 2012.
(B) CONGU ‘Non Active’ – a current member of a CONGU affiliated golf club with a handicap.
(C) Strokes Golf Handicap – a current subscriber to Strokes Golf Handicap who has entered a minimum of 3 cards between April 30th 2011 and June 30th 2012 (www.strokesgolfhandicap.co.uk).
No other handicap certificates are valid for entry into the events.
Current handicap certificates must be taken to each match and shown to the opponents before the match commences. If a competitor does not provide a handicap certificate on the day of the match he/she must provide proof of handicap to the organisers within 48 hours of completion of the match if requested by the opponents.
If you are not a member of a Golf Club but would like to compete in the Matchplay Championship then for the second year running we will be accepting a Strokes Golf Handicap Certificate for entry into the separate Men’s Pairs - CONGU ‘Non Active’ & Strokes Golf Handicap event.
You can obtain a Strokes Golf Handicap Certificate absolutely FREE when you enter the Matchplay Championship.
To obtain your FREE - Official Strokes Golf Handicap Certificate, simply enter the Men’s Pairs - CONGU ‘Non Active’ & Strokes Golf Handicap event and when prompted for your handicap tick the box that says ‘Player requires a Strokes Golf Handicap’. You will then be sent an email with an activation code to give you a 12 months ‘Strokes’ subscription.
Holders of an Official Strokes Golf Handicap will compete alongside holders of CONGU ‘Non Active’ handicaps in the Men’s Pairs – CONGU ‘Non Active’ event.
